Rolls-Royce has received an order worth more than US$19.2 million (£12 million) from PaxOcean, a Singapore-based offshore company, to provide the ship design, propulsion systems and deck machinery for two platform supply vessels.
The UT 755 CD is a development of the UT 755 series. The vessels will be built at PaxOcean Engineering’s offshore vessel shipyard in Zhuhai, China, with delivery due in 2012. The order also provides Rolls-Royce with additional options to construct a further four vessels of the same type.
The latest models incorporate efficient hull designs and diesel electric propulsion technology, which minimize the impact on the environment and improve the comfort and safety of the crew, Rolls-Royce said.
