The main steam isolation valves and main feedwater isolation valves will be used at Taishan Units 1 and 2 of a Chinese EPR (CEPR) pressurized water reactors.
Flowserve main steam isolation valves and main feedwater isolation valves are designed to play a role in emergency nuclear power plant shutdowns. They work by preventing the blowdown of the steam generators and maintaining their capability to remove heat from the reactor primary loop and the reactor core.
Taishan Units 1 and 2, which represent the first two reactors based on Areva’s EPR technology, are currently under construction in Guangdong Province, China and are scheduled for operation in 2010 and 2014 respectively.
