The British Pump Manufacturers’ Association (BPMA) has developed a range of web-based courses covering staff retention, CPD recognition, workforce succession planning, better pump and system understanding, improved LCC & MTBF of pumps on site and affordable and efficient training.
The courses will run alongside the organisation’s lecture-based courses and have been developed to provide a qualification in pumping technology.
The first course, Level 1 “Introduction to Pumping Technology”, accredited by the National Open College Network, is now open. It will help students learn the terminology used for pumping, gain knowledge of the different types of pumps, understand the difference between pumps and compressors and have knowledge of the different types of pumping systems and their components, the BPMA says.
Levels 2 (Essentials) and 3 (Advanced) are currently in preparation and should be available in 2009.The courses are available at an introductory price of £100 plus VAT per student.
