Lydall Inc is to acquire the microporous membrane division of Royal DSM, a global life sciences and materials sciences company. Financial details have not been disclosed.
DSM’s Solutech division, established in 1993, is the manufacturer of Solupor specialty microporous membranes for air and liquid filtration. These membranes are suitable for a range of applications, including filtration and separation, supercapacitors, Li-ion batteries, textiles and polymer fuel cells.
The business primarily consists of two production facilities in the Netherlands and had approximately €3 million net sales in 2007. Lydall has been a development partner for Solutech since 2007 and as part of the agreement the two companies will continue to cooperate.
