Diesel: 300 to 800 kW
Gaseous Fuel: 300 to 800 kW
Dual Fuel: 300 to 800 kW
Ukrainian diesel engine manufacturer PervomaiskDieselMash (PDM) works mainly for domestic Ukrainian and CIS markets. During this year, the company delivered around 40 complete containerized gas-fueled power stations and generating sets (mainly 500 kW)that are using its own main and emergency power source for different industry enterprises.
The company continues work to increase its international market presence and has delivered two of the 6ChN25x34, 250 mm x 360 mm (bore x stroke), six-cylinder, inline configuration diesels to SOMAGEC from Casablanca, Morocco. These diesels will be used for retrofit of existing generating sets onboard the floating crane Chernomorets-22-Zimbrul, which was built in the Ukraine in 1967. The previous diesels successfully operated for almost 40 years.
In the spring of 2007, PDM started long-term testing of a new version of its DvGA-500 gas engine rated power at 500 kW. The engine is based on the company’s own 6ChN25x34 diesel with inside carburetion. Supplying fuel gas directly to each cylinder of the engine is accomplished via Megasol-200 electromagnetic valves by Heinzmann GmbH & Co. KG. The valve’s control and monitoring system automatically operates the valve opening angle, and time of opening depends on engine loading and exhaust gas temperature.
Describing preliminary results of this testing, Megasol-200 valves provided best-operation quality and acceleration capability during sharp power surges. In addition, direct gas dosing for each cylinder reduced the risk of detonation and equalized each cylinder loading.
