GE V228 Diesels for Unique, Self-propelled Well Remediation Vessel

The engines will be used to power a new breed of offshore well servicing equipment, which is Remedial Offshore’s Elevating Support Vessel (ESV) design.

Locomotive Certification
Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. (EMD) announced that it has obtained certification for operation of its Class 66 (JT42CWRM) locomotive in Romania. Romania becomes number 10 in the list of countries that have welcomed the Class 66 to operate on the tracks. The Class 66 has now been certified in the following countries: United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Romania.

Wärtsilä Converts Pakistan Power Plant to Dual-fuel
Submitted by powerservices on Fri, 01/11/2008 - 00:33.With a capacity of 21 000 tons per day, Lucky Cement Ltd. is the largest cement producer in Pakistan. During the first part of 2007, Wärtsilä Corp. was awarded contracts by Lucky Cement to convert their complete heavy fuel oil (HFO) burning power plant to operate on natural gas.

Here is a view of the Lucky Cement power plant located in Pakistan’s North-West Frontier Province. The plant’s ten Wärtsilä engines will be converted from HFO to dual-fuel with gas as the main fuel.
