Pumps stand up to New Orleans hurricane
Submitted by powerservices on Mon, 10/06/2008 - 17:08.Pumps and systems from ITT Corp have been helping US city, New Orleans, manage floodwater during Hurricane Gustav. Positioned at 25 different pumping stations in Jefferson Street, Charles Street, Bernard and New Orleans parishes, the ITT pumps have a total pumping capacity of 20 million gallons/min of water.
The pumps are part of a sophisticated system that serves the east bank of New Orleans by draining storm run-out to prevent flooding.
