Lowara launches submersible grinder pump and high efficiency motors

ITT's subsidiary, Lowara, has recently launched an efficient grinder pump for the domestic sewage market. The DOMO GRI has been designed to deliver domestic sewage, liquids containing solids or fibres, and wastewater from residential buildings to the sewer mains or a pressurized sewer network.

Lowara reports that the DOMO GRI is of particular use in farm areas, small villages and homes built in remote areas where the conventional gravity sewage network is too expensive to commission. The company says the pumps are particularly effective where the sewer mains is located at high level or where the ground level is variable.

The study suggests that generally, healthy economic conditions will support gains in global pump demand, especially in rapidly developing areas such as China and India where rising energy consumption and infrastructure development projects will provide key applications for fluid handling pumps.

Switchgear for pressure boosting systems wins product of the year

The CC-Booster, a switchgear for pressure boosting systems from Wilo AG, has been voted Product of the Year at the recent Building Services Awards held in London.

The CC-Booster can control up to six single pumps of a pressure boosting system in a fully automatic way. Its core piece is a specially programmed control (SPS) which influences the base-load pump's speed by means of a frequency converter, switching additional peak-load pumps on or off when required. The pumps are operated in a silent and energy-saving way. It can be integrated into building management systems by means of available modules.

The Building Services awards, now in their 11th year, reward products in 17 different categories, acknowledging the strongest companies in building services.
