Water charity helps ITT fight water sanitation issues

In a panel at the World Water Congress in Vienna, Water For People, a non-profit international development organisation and ITT held a discussion on water sanitation issues. The charity will work closely with the company on 'ITT Watermark', ITT's program which targets the biggest water issues facing schools and schoolchildren in developing countries.

Together the companies plan to install 15 arsenic filters at schools in West Bengal, India, and are also involved with other local projects there. These efforts are part of ITT Watermark's larger program – an initial three-year, US$3 million commitment to help provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to 300 schools in the developing world.

Kimberly-Clark: The Media That Drives Air Filter Performance

You can count on Kimberly-Clark* Intrepid* Air Filtration Media to provide excellent performance for your filters:

  • High filtration efficiency.Kimberly-Clark* Intrepid* Air Filtration Media is made from uniquely formed fibers of side-by-side bicomponent filaments. The ability to incorporate an electrostatic charge provides for a high initial efficiency. Our media also features an engineered gradient structure which has increasing fiber density from the upstream to the downstream side. This structure provides for sustained mechanical efficiency in capturing airborne particles over the filter's service life. The enhanced performance of imberly-Clark* Intrepid* Air Filtration Media is consistently demonstrated in finished filter test results.
  • Magnetic filtration:Producing fine high-purity feed stocks

Working with chemicals – be they fine or coarse, in small or bulk amounts – demands precision and accuracy of scale in order to achieve the best efficiencies for the process. In this article, Dan Norrgran discusses the use of magnetic filters when working with chemicals, especially in the production of ceramic and metallurgical components.

    Introduction
The advancements in magnetic separation technology have resulted in new types of magnetic separators specifically designed for treating fine materials. These new separators are termed “magnetic filters” and are effective in treating fine materialsin either a wet or dry process stream. As a result new opportunities for magnetic separation have evolved in the production of

Companies team up to create refractory cloth filters

Ametek Foundry Products and Comanche Technologies, a metal filtration casting company, have worked together to develop Cerra-Flex®, a new line of refractory cloth filters.

Cerra-Flex® is a refractory-coated silica mesh cloth developed specifically for increased thermal properties and rigidity. It can be used in metal casting applications where metal pour temperatures approach the maximum allowed for silica mesh fabric, such as steel casting or when pouring large amounts of ferrous metals.
