Solution for air operated diaphragm pump industry

The DEPA E4 Compound Diaphragm for the air operated diaphragm pump industry has been launched by Crane ChemPharma Flow Solutions, a Crane Co company. The ‘noppedE4' surface of the DEPA E4 features a uniform sequence of small mounds radiating in a band located medially within the diaphragm and this imparts a level of flexibility to the diaphragm that the company says is more effective than standard rubber diaphragms.

Available in four sizes, ranging from ½ in-2 in, the diaphragm is constructed as a single unit from a combination of PTFE and EDPM. The outer piston, usually a separate component in standard pumps, is entirely encapsulated.

Vacuum pumps for laboratory applications applications

Welch® has developed VARIFLOW™ DC-Drive vacuum pumps, which it says are ideal for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and laboratory applications.

According to Welch, these entirely dry DC-drive variable speed vacuum pumps can be used for full chemical-duty and standard-duty operation.

The VARIFLOW pumps offer a two-stage diaphragm mechanism with 45 LPM flow rate and ultimate vacuum to1.5 torr (<2 mbar). Welch says, the chemical duty model 8115D-20 uses PTFE heads and diaphragms and FKM valves and the standard duty model 8115D-25 uses aluminium heads, EPDM diaphragms and valves.
