Perkins will add to its recently introduced range of 4012-46 ElectropaKs in January 2008 with the addition of a new model — the 4012-46TWG4A. The 4012-46TWG4A has been developed to meet the industry key market node of 1500 kVA prime at 1500 r/min, the company said. This model will have a standby rating of 1650 kVA, making it the highest powered air to water chargecooled model in the new 4012-46 family.

The company believes this new model will provide gen-set OEMs around the world with greater installation flexibility due to the air to water charge cooling.

The 4012-46TWG air to water charge cooled range will now cover 989 to 1650kVA at 1500 r/min while the 4012-46TAG air to air charge cooled range covers 1080 to 1875 kVA also at 1500 r/min. All models in the 4012-46 family are a 12-cylinder, Vee configuration with a displacement of 46 L and a specially designed, cast and flowed exhaust manifold, which feeds a high-efficiency quad turbo arrangement. The new 4012-46TWG4A will be available in either ElectroUnit of ElectropaK configuration.
