Hydrotech Discfilters from Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies are now being used for tertiary solids removal

Following the successful installation at Windermere STW, the Hydrotech Discfilters from Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies are now being used for tertiary solids removal at Holme, Kendal, Leigh, Glazebury and Coniston sewage treatment works.

The Hydrotech Discfilter showed significant cost advantages compared to alternative processes when treating final effluent to better than 15 mg/l TSS. The Hydrotech Discfilters from Veolia are also going to be installed by South West Water at their Lanner St Day sewage treatment works (30 L/s) and by Thames Water at Merstham sewage treatment works (60 L/s) in projects due for completion in 2010.

Hydrotech Discfilter modules are available in four ranges up to 1,000 L/s and can be supplied on steel frames for building into concrete chambers or as stand-alone stainless steel tank units.
