Elliott Company has booked an order from Petroleos Mexicanos

Elliott Company has booked an order from Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Mexico’s state-owned petroleum company, for two compressor trains for a new continuous catalytic regenerative (CCR) platforming plant in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico. Elliott will provide a recycle compressor train consisting of a 60MBL5 motor-driven barrel compressor and a net gas compressor train comprised of two barrel compressors, a 32MBL8 and a 25MBL8, driven by a double-ended condensing steam turbine. Elliott will also provide the buffer gas, lube oil and control systems for both compressor trains.

Constructed by Grupo Dragados S.A., the plant will utilize UOP technology to maximize the production of BTX aromatics and is expected to process up to 23,000 bbl/d when it goes on line in late 2011. That increased output will be used downstream at La Cangrejera petrochemical complex. Delivery of the new equipment is scheduled for April, 2011.
