Two 9HP Chopper pump from Landia are being used to tackle the harsh media clogging up the Crittenden County Detention Centre’s wastewater system.
Knives, latex gloves and grease are just some of the items the 9HP Chopper pumps are macerating. The Chopper pumps’ robust knife system prevents clogging and subsequent breakdowns and failures by preventing large troublesome particles from entering the pumps. The Chopper pump from Landia also incorporates a specially designed pump volute and impeller which protect the mechanical seals from stringy material.
Wes Cullin, facilities maintenance superintendent at Crittenden, Western Kentucky said: “We have not had one single problem with the pumps. They have been operating great!”
