GE ICL Compression Technology Selected For Storage Expansion

GE Oil & Gas will supply four Integrated Compressor Line (ICL) units to Storengy, a GDF Suez Group company in France, for expansion of the Céré La Ronde natural gas storage site near Tours (one unit) and the Saint Illiers site near Paris (three units). GE said its ICL technology features an integrated system that combines three proven technologies: centrifugal compression, active magnetic bearings and high-speed electric motors.

This contract brings to 16 the number of ICL units sold since its 2007 introduction. Shipment from GE’s facilities in Le Creusot, France is planned by the end of 2010, with installation scheduled for mid-2011.
